What is the complete donation process for a food driver?

SBC Food Rescue uses Chowmatch to connect food donors with volunteer drivers to transport surplus food to recipient organizations. Follow these steps to complete the donation process:

  • Create a ChowMatch profile here. Chowmatch will request your availability, frequency at which you can volunteer, and maximum distance you are willing to drive.
  • When ChowMatch identifies a volunteer driver need in your region, you will be notified about the opportunity.
  • If you are available and accept the driving assignment, you will confirm a pickup time and location with the donor.
  • Volunteer drivers mark the delivery as complete once the food is delivered to the recipient organization.
