Countywide Food Recovery Needs and Capacity Assessment

The law requires mandated food donors to maintain records of their food donation activities, including a contract or written agreement with a food recovery organization.

For the purposes of this survey “rescued food” is food that would have otherwise been disposed of, but was instead donated for human consumption.

Nonprofits that have a contract or written agreement with a food donor mandated under California Senate Bill 1383 will be required to maintain records of the food they receive from each mandated food donor.
